Goal setting

I seem to be spending too much time blagging on the interwebs and no time designing and creating.

Does this sound like a familiar problem?

You think "I'll just go and twitter a little" then before you know it you've entered several giveaways, followed a few more blogs, cruised a few new sites and Oooops! goodness me where has the day gone??

So, yesterday I set myself the goal of making 10 lampwork beads (I'm just a novice),
and then making 10 bracelets.

The bracelet making is quite time consuming as I have been making irregular, funky ones and there is a great deal of rummaging through bead boxes to be done.
Once I have a pleasing array, the stringing is the easy part.

How did I go?

Well, I made 15 glass beads, just basic baby, beginner beads.

These are the ones I have made this week.

Some are still stuck on the mandrells - Oh, well, that probably happens to everyone!

I made 7 bracelets late last night and had to give in and go to bed, but I made the remaining 3 this morning.

How do I feel?

Great!!!

I feel like I finally acheived something.

Monday treasuries

Wow! If I thought last week was good for treasuries, what about this week??

I hope you're sitting comfortably - then I'll begin, with the first of the eight, that's right 8 treasuries I was in.

I'd like to thank all the curators for taking the time to put together and post these collections.
It's obvious that a lot of thought goes into selecting items to fit a theme and to look just right.

First up - a tribute to treaury curators by Psalm104photography.

Amongst this colourful collection, I was thrilled to find my Tutt-fruitti fingerless mitts fromBoosTees.

Psalm104, has beautiful photographs available as JPEGs for you to download and use in your scrapbooking projects.
I would just frame this one and hang it on my wall!

Next I was doubly delighted because Cool Things by handmadesbylorri featured two of my items.
Gold Cat earrings in my planettresures shop.
and Chloe Cat tshirt from BoosTees.

Lorraine is a very talented knitter, and I'm a bit keen on fingerless mitts at the moment.
I love these pretty red one - look at the cute little button detail!

Another regular DUST team treasury complier eclecticmoi chose my Winter Dawn earrings in this subtle collection.

I'm also a bit keen on owls at the moment, and eclecticmoi has quite a few to choose from, but I couldnt go past this necklace in my favorite colour!

I contrast, DELicoiusdesignz went for vibrant pinks - how gorgeous!

She included my Samarkand Journey necklace and I did BLUSH - with pleasure!

I'm also tickled pink by the lovely resin pieces in Del's shop - like this unusual bangle.

Great minds think alike - because linkeldesigns also chose the WinterDawn earrings with this mysterious treasury.
I love it!

Linkeldesigns has some beautiful jewellery - I just love this bird and cage piece.

Bright and bold were the choices by alatvian.
I was thrilled to see my Lipstick Red earrings alongside all the other lovely pieces.
Great picks there!

When I looked at alatvian's shop I was intrigued to see this amazing beadwoven spiral bracelet on a memory wire base.
Such a clever idea and what a pretty bracelet.

SNAP!!
Delicious designs chose my same Lipstick Red earrings but incorporated them into a collection inspired by circles.

Thanks again, Del!
I'm a sucker for anything Alice in Wonderland.
Look what Del has done here with a spoon and the Mad Hatter -

Last, but by no means least - inspired by her mother's cruise, Itinerary by AutumnSkyAdornments.
I was honoured to have my Venice Lagoon earrings featured alongside the other cruisey pieces.

AutumnSky is an amazing jewellery designer and I love everything about this bracelet.

Freeform beadweaving, the little face and the freshwater pearls.
Go and checkout the shop, there are many more wonderful creations.

Phew!

Thank you all again.
I'm inspired to go and do some creating - how about you?

I have just taken part in my second craft swap.

This is what I got from Melissa -

so beautifully wrapped, I thought it was my birthday again!

They are the perfect colours for my house, it's such great fabric - and I got three!!

Thanks so much, Melissa.

Littlemo designs wonderfulpaper goods with her own illustrations on.
Recently she introduced some eco-frindly shopping bags, like this one.

How cute!

Also the ever busy EnchantedQuilling selected my Barossa Valley Bracelet in her magical collection.
This one was full of amazing bracelets by Australian sellers.

I love EnchantedQuilling's work!
Look at this wonderful owl card and bookmark set.

It must have been a purple week!
Great minds think alike, because andabodi found some lovely and different items to feature in her treasury.
I was so pleased to see my Black Stone Earrings in such gorgeous company.

Andabodi is a very talented photographer, and since I love doors I have chosen this one to show you.

But please go and have a look at the other photo prints and cards in andabodi's shop.

August bargains

Roar your way into some great deals throughout August with DUST!

Nearly every month, DUST holds a themed monthly sale on Etsy! That means that there is always a deal to be found year-round. August is no different, this month's theme being "Leo the Lion". How does that translate into savings for you?

A big part of the fun is seeing how each member interprets the sale theme in their own way. The theme was chosen for August birthdays, but with a twist! "Leo the Lion" of course refers to the astrological sign associated with the month, but the theme is far from limiting. For example, there were some great suggestions on how to choose items
for the sale. Such as:

* Colours - Yellows, oranges, browns
* Stones used
* Fabric choices
* General jungle themes - greens, monkeys, tigers
* All things astrological

So you never know what sort of fun creations you might find on sale this month! The only way to find out is to hang out in our promotion thread on Etsy (found here: http://www.etsy.com/forums_thread.php?thread_id=6233915) or to search the term "dustteamsale". This will directly show you all of the participating items for the sale, meaning more savings than you can shake a stick at.

We really hope to see you celebrating this wonderful month with us on Etsy! It's a jungle out there, after all.
