monday's treasuries
It's Australia Day tommorrow and the Aussies on etsy have been blitzing the treasuries with Aussie goodies.
So I was thrilled to find my jewellery included in two wonderful collections.
From the ocean to the desert by JaEmArt -
included my turquoise desert necklace.
I love this clever reversible skirt by Linda of JaEmArt -
Also hannahfaerie currated a more mystical interpretation - the winter queen.
and popped my silver rose earrings in.
This stunning necklace by Hannah would look great with Linda's skirt!
Lastly - a hot summer one from me.
thanks Hannah and Linda - and lets hope an aussie treasury makes the front page tomorrow.
Happy Australia Day!

Not much beading and even less blogging!
Where does the time go to?
I'm sure I havent been very productive in any sphere this week, but I am still having fun playing with ideas from Beth Stone's book.
Things I have tried include ndebele rope -
and then with different types and sizes of beads -
Also a skinny 4 bead ndebele rope, with the ends connected.
Beth has a great description of how to do this!
It's magic!
Not forgetting another triangle pendant -

New projects for the new year
What I've made this week!
I love Beth Stone! I wish I could adopt her and we could sit and bead together.
She has a new book "More Seed Bead Stitching" which is endlessly inspirational and I have been delving into it for some new projects.
Like this version of her "easy bracelet" -
and this "spur of the moment bracelet" where I use 6,8 and 11 size beads instead of 8,11 and 15.
(I find 15's impossibly small).
In this new book Beth visits the amazing triangles and as these are quick and easy to make, and my stock of them is dwindling I made some more.
I'm loving bright colours at the moment and need some more bright seed beads and delicas.
Time for another shopping expedition??

Where I've been
I've been to Vietnam!
We flew out on Boxing Day for a 2 week trip to Vietnam, starting at Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
Went on a 3 day tour to the Mekong delta.
Having seen the Mekong in Laos and Cambodia last year this was another link in that story.
Son and girlfriend joined us after a week and we flew to Hue -
and Hoi An in the central coastal area.

Wednesday wishlist
A new year and some new wishes.
We looked for pants like this when we were in Vietnam, but couldnt find any.
These pants by the7thrabbit look so comfy.
I love these pretty delicate rings by LavenderCottage.
And although I dont really need any more cushions - I can wish cant I?
