My creative space

Domino brooches ready for Viva la Gong in Wollongong on Saturday and Making Spaces Marketplace.
I couldnt find any of the lovely creamy dominos I used last time...these are smaller and whiter, so I hope my customers still like them.

National recycling week

I noticed in the paper yesterday that apparently it is National Recycling week. Who knew?

Do you recycle?
What do you recycle?
If you are a crafter do you use recycled supplies or does recycling form part of your business ethic?

Here are some great Australian designers who use recycling in their work.

Epheriell uses 100% recycled silver to make elegant earrings -

Craft swap - I'm a lucky girl

I haven't participated in a craft swap for a while...but I'm so glad I joined in this one.

My swap partner was the lovely Samara from Maddabling.

It was a bit tricky because we both make jewellery, but she is so much more talented than that!
We conversed back and forth - I looked at her facebook photos and realised what a fabulous photographer she is and that we have very similar taste in photographic subjects.

So I requested some photos and something from her gorgeous mixed media creations.

When the package arrived it was like christmas!
Look how gorgeously they are packaged! I didnt want to spoil it and open them....but then I did want to see what was inside!

And here!
This is what I found!

Now aren't I just the luckiest girl in the world?

Have you ever taken part in a craft swap?
Was it hard to decide what to make?
Were you as thrilled as me?

PS, Samara has a wonderful blog as well - Maddabling - check it out!

My creative space

Another Thursday - another creative space. Don't they seem to come round quickly
Actually I don't mind toomuch becasue if I havn't created anything for a few days it makes me go and get my making hat on!

This week I'm playing with my bead stash again as in an earlier post.

I've been transforming them into bracelets as these are easiest way to use up odd beads.

How's your creative space going?

If you would like to see more creative spaces or join in you can do so here.
