Wednesday wishlist

Is it lame (excuse the pun) that I have been home all week with my leg up and I havent managed to blog?

It's hard to get motivated.
It's difficult to get into a comfy position to operate the computer.
I'm sitting here feeling very sorry for myself.

But I can wish and these are things that would cheer me up.

Wednesday wishlist

The days are shortening.
There's a chill in the air.
Well it is autumn and maybe time for a cardi.
But cardis dont have to be boring, I love the whismsical rosettes on this classic grey cardigan.

Speaking of whimsy.
I think I need this whimsical collage of ephemera to brighten my day -

And what is more whimsical than Alice in Wonderland?

alice in wonderland teapot and cup by artdecadence

Which reminds me!
It must be time for a cuppa to keep the chills away!
See you next week.........................

monday's treasuries

Yay! One lovely treasury this week!

Thanks to the ever lovely and busy Del of DELiciousDesignz -

I'm so happy to that she include my silver cheshire cat earrings as I am just mad about all thing Alice!

Also these earrings are reduced in price just for this month as part of the DUST team March sale.

You can see other March sale items here http://www.dustteam.com/guides/sale/.

Del herself is something of an Alice-phile and you will find amazing Alice spoon pendants in her shop, but for myself I spied these lovely bangles.

some little things this week

I feel that I havent been very productive lately.
Well at least it is a quiet time of year.

So I have been allowing myself to do some playing.
I was playing around with different beads in different colours in peyote and brick stitch, and I was going to make it into a pendant, when a friend asked was it a brooch?

*ping*

I added a vintage glass button, sewed on a brooch back and 'voila!'

- a brooch.

This set me to thinking that if I stitched a base of peyote stitch that is big enough to take a brooch pin and if I then added on segments of different stitches using different beads, I could drape and fold the pieces, sew them down and have a brooch with a flat back.

My first attempt - it is very free-form looking -

but there is definitely a possibility here.

Watch this space!

Where have I been?

To the Dish at Parkes.
G works for the mob that run the place and had to meet with some people - so I went along for a mini-break.

Wandered around a bit.
In true country style, nothing gets thrown away out in the bush!

There are lovely native trees and bushes planted around the site.
This is a rare eucalypt from Western Australia, but I've forgotten it's name.

I went for a walk to Goobang National Park, north of Parkes which is a farly new national park.
Burrabadine peak is perhaps the last raised bit of land going west.
It's a very big, flat country out there.

It was badly burned a couple of years ago, but is regenerating - like this wonderful grass tree (xanthorea)
