Five Friday Faves

I've been having fun finding some new faves - and revisiting some old faves as well.
Sometimes it's not just the object that I love but maybe the shop name, the way items are photographed, or some colour combination that catches my eye.

This shop has got the best name ever!

I can't stop looking at Susannah Tucker's lovely images and these sweet sentiments - who wouldn't love to just float away....

Friday Finds - red and rich and ravishing!

This is the first of my Friday finds posts - I'm not quite sure what will appear here every week, could be things I have found on-line or things I have found in real life.

As a quickie this week I have visited my recent faves on etsy and couldnt go past this luscious vintage red coat.
It's getting to that time of year when it's possible to wear such items downunder - yes, all you non-aussies, it does get cold in parts of Australia.

I love the fabulousness of the hood, don't you?
I'd love to be little red riding hood in this!

And just a couple of clicks away I found this wonderful red window, looking very mysterious.
Why is it slightly ajar?
Is somebody opening or closing it?
Who is behind it.

And the fancy red frame sets it off really well.

And lastly - such sweet little lino prints of red-breasted robin.
I love that they are printed on pages from old books and they have colourful envelopes - just perfect!

My Creative Space - blogtoberfest day 6

Hi and how are all the crafty creators today?

I've been busy making lots of new stock for the start of the spring fair season.

I wanted to have a bit of a floral/nature/birdie theme so I made some pendants with some images that I bought ages ago.

One of them I made into a necklace with a silver branch component but the others....well that's a surprise!

I also made some owly branch necklaces with brass findings.

In my garden

This is the bower of a satin bower bird in our garden.
The bower is constructed from sticks and twigs - it's amazing.
It is always oriented north-south.
The male bower bird collects blue things to attract females to his bower!
The females go around visiting all the bowers in the area, checking them out for a suitable mate.

He is very glossy and bluey-black - lovely!

Is it lame (excuse the pun) that I have been home all week with my leg up and I havent managed to blog?

It's hard to get motivated.
It's difficult to get into a comfy position to operate the computer.
I'm sitting here feeling very sorry for myself.

But I can wish and these are things that would cheer me up.

Wednesday wishlist

What is it with me and bright colours at the moment?

Is it beacuse it has been raining for 2 weeks?
Or does my mood need uplifting?
Am I trying to relive a past life?

Who knows!

Anyway I just fell in love with this vibrant cushion.
It has gorgeous Indian fabric and hopefully I'm heading to India this year, so maybe this is a taste of thing to come?


I was looking for something completely different - isnt that always the way? - when I found this stunning orange bag by tippythai.

There are so many lovely styles of bags in tippythais shop - I'd like one in every design and every colour.

But this one is the perfect summer colour and weight.


OK - something elso orange?

Well this is probabyl on the red side of orange - but how delightful is this brooch?
There are lots of really cute things in this shop and it has the best name - "inmybackyard"!



I'm so happy with my wishlist this week!
See it has lifted my spirits already - think I'll go for a skip. tralala!
