A giveaway! blogtoberfest day 4

Today is giveaway day! yay!

I'll put together a little package consisting of -

1. One of Boos Tees fabric brooches chosen at random.

2. A little fabric business card holder that I made from some fabric printed by the wonderful Ruby Victoria.
I'm a little bit of a fan of Ruby Victoria! Can you tell? I also featured her tea cup print yesterday!

I have a tutorial almost ready about how to make these little fabric pouches - look out, I'll publish it sometime this month.

3. A pair of earrings again chosen at random from my planettreasures shop.

What do you need to do?
Just leave a comment here or on any post this week and include how I can contact you should you win.

This giveaway will finish next Tuesday 11th October when I will post a new giveaway.

How to spend a rainy afternoon

stamping, cutting, punching and swapping brooches onto some new display cards -

How do you while away a wet afternoon?

this week

I went on three bushwalks.

One to Mount Hay on not a very nice day.
Sometimes there were views -

and some bits were scarey -

One around the eastern escarpment of the Blue Mountains.

Down to the old Knapsack bridge - a wonderful feat of engineering.

And the third one in the Glenbrook section of the Blue Mountains National park, along dappled tracks -

down to the Nepean River gorge.

Then I made some tshirts -

How was your week?

Tuesday's treasuries (on Wednesday!)

Well I am a bit behind with my treasury posts!
Weeks behind as well as a day behind.

I would like to thank these lovely people for chosing my bits and pieces in their collections!

Mandy of Radicalglass put a tshirt fromBoosTees in this dark one -

and one of BoosTees new brooches in this one -

I think this pendant of Mandy's is gorgeous and would fit in her dark night treasury -

Got style? Got beauty? Got minimalism?
Then you might love this treasury, which included Freda Owl tshirt by BoosTees -

artsyfartsymemories has a far from minimalist store - it is so pretty and full of shabby chic goodies, like these adorable tags. Yum!

Great shop name too!

Sharonclancydesigns obviously had purple and yellow on her mind when she created these two beauties -

Many thanks Sharon for including BoosTees mitts.

Sharonclancydesigns sells the most luscious jewellery.
These are my weakness being earrings and in my favorite colour!

And she obviously has a penchant for puns!

Finally I have been playing with the new treasury east, and having a bit of fun too!

Starting with one following on from my blog post - Mad about orange!

and my daughter's love of bare tree branches -

This one was inspired by Tractorgirls cushion -

Finally - I was searching for a colour description for a headband I had knitted.
My twitter and facebook friends made several suggestions - one of which was the name of my friends kitchen wall colour!
Savannah clay.

So my savannah treasury was born.

Where do you find inspiration to create treasuries?

dont you just love -

a brand new stack of fat quarters?

I went to the Sydney quilt and craft fair yesterday with three other lovely DUSTy ladies.
We all do different things even though three of us make jewellery but our styes are very different.

Mandy of Beadsme and Radical Glass makes beautiful dainty pieces using glass and gemstones as well as fused glass pendants and earrings.

Rachel of LaFemmeJewels creates elegant jewellery using quality components.
She has also just opened a shop for her enamel and metal designs, rmdjewellery.

Somewhat outnumbered was Julie from julieblanchette who is a felt and fibre artist, but we managed to walk the length and breadth of the show, and fit in a couple of pit stops at the coffee shop.

We all came away with a few goodies!

Even though I dont need all these fabrics, they were too beautiful to resist!

Some of them will be appliqued to BoosTees tshirts, other made into cute little pin brooches.

I bought a few beads, so look out for an update.

Oh, and I bought some wool to knit myself a jumper - dont hold your breath for that one!

what do you love?

and now for something completely different

As a change from beading and knitting, I drew some cards in the style of BoosTees tshirts.

What I'm wondering is - should I add a caption or something?
For example "penguin" or "oliver owl"?

What do you think?

monday treasuries

It's a beautiful autumn morning, a little crispy in the air butthere are blue skies and there is freshness all around.
What a lovely start to the week!

Of course in other parts of the world it is spring and this treasury is a clelbration of that tome of year.

Many thinks to sublimedragonfly for including BoosTees lilac and lemon mitts.

Sublimedragonfly makes delicious soaps and other body products.

How could I go past a margarita lime soap? Yum!

Monday's treasuries

It's summer!
And the DUST (down under street team of Australian sellers on etsy) have been blitzing the treasuries to show just what we have down here.

I was thrilled to be included in two of them last week.

Feliciafairy chose BoosTees Barney Blue Owl tshirt in her bright and breezy day at the beach.

Emma of feliciafairy has many talents and her specialty is converting underwear into goreous topwear - like this lovely colourful slip dress.
I am already the owner of one of her creations - I'm very tempted by this one as well.

Deb of twocheekymonkeys fame selected another BoosTees creation - Mungo mushroom man amongst her favorite picks for an Aussie summer.

Deb makes beautiful classic jewellery - and I just cant go past this stunning necklace in my favorite colour.

And lastly I got carried away after I spotted some amazing red cowboy boots and found some Australian items to co-ordinate with them.
To me these colours represent the bushfire season here.

Where I was today - and will be tomorow

There is aMuseum of Fire nearby that has a Doll, Bear and Craft fair once a year as a major fundraiser.

They move some of the fire engines out and put the stalls in.

This is my space.

I am able to use the display cases in my area.

The cups and trophies are not mine - they belong to a long gone fire brigade.

I apologise for the quality of these photos.
I'll try and get some better ones tomorrow.

What I made this week - blogtoberfest day 23

Not a lot of jewellery designing going on this last week.
But I've finally restrung this turquoise-coloured howlite pendant from this necklace which I loved but hadnt sold -

to this -

I have also made some tshirts as summer is coming!

more black ones -

and this time grey marle instead of the sand -

Look out for the tshirts in BoosTees shop - I will be listing them soon, when I have enough good photos.

I also had to make a pair of mitts for a northern hemisphere order -
