Weekend wanderings - blogtoberfest 2013 day 13.

We went for a bushwalk.
It was meant to be an easy little jaunt....but turned into a 3 1/4 hour epic!

We started in Glenbrook where unfortunately there has been some recent burning of the bush - deliberate (as in hazard reduction) or accidental (as in actual bushfire) we weren't sure as the bush wasn't completely burnt and it was only on one side of the path.

We were descending to Glenbrook creek which is actually a lot further away than it looks here -

Down at creek level, there are lots of nice swimming holes.

Mr planet contemplating the water -

There isn't really a track along the creek, but a bit of a foot pad and walking involved a fair bit of rock-hopping, scrambling and pushing through bushes.
It's not that hard, I just wasn't in the mood for it.

It was a bit warm.

So eventually we did go for a dunk in the water - which was surprisingly cold!
And there are no pictures as we had to skinny-dip.

It cooled us off before the climb out and back along the fire trail to the car.

Huge weekend

What a huge weekend I'm going to have!

An exhibition and a big sale!

The exhibition is the Mountain Makers at Glenbrook, in the beautiful Blue Mountains in NSW, Australia.

And I'm part of the DUST (down under street team) participation in etsy's weekend deals!

I'm mad I know, but I actually have a lot of stock I'd like to see go to a good home so that I can make some new pieces.
Especially since I went to the Sydney Bead and Gem show last night and just couldnt come away empty handed!

So if you are in the Blue Mountains or near the Blue Mountains or in Sydney and would like a nice day out (there are other lovely shops in Glenbrook and great cafes and the National Park is minutes away and the hall is in the same building as the Glenbrook Cinema - the best cinema ever) come to Glenbrook Hall, next to the information centre on the Great Western Highway.

We're open 9am - 5pm Saturday and 9am - 3pm sunday.

Or if you're a bit further away check out all the great weekend deals from fab aussie sellers.
You can see them all on the DUST team blog.

Glenbrook Markets

What a beautiful day!
Perfect weather for a day at the market.

You have to get there early so that that you can be set up early.
then you go shopping!

There are bagels, organic fruit and veggies and fresh fish.
Great coffee to go with my breakfast blueberry bagel.

It's a friendly market, the other stallholders are lovely and a good mix of local customers and passing tourists.
