Once I get an idea in my head I have to keep at it until I'm happy with the outcome.
Last week I told you about my aim to make big hoop beaded earrings - here.
This is what they looked like when I finished them -
They are actually I nicer colour than they look here!
They are not big enough!
So now I'm making another pair starting with more beads and see how I go - I'll let you know how I get on.
I'm also still playing with ceramic pendants - this one I've had for a while and it was a necklace - just a simple one strung on some little malachite beads, but nobody loved it : (
I've jazzed it up with some rainbow moonstone, azurite, green kyanite with black agate spacers.
And then I made some simple earrings - just for fun!
Sadly My Creative Space on Village Voices is no more....hopefully it will find another home.
I find it's a great motivation to actually make something and then blog about it.

New supplies and inspiration - My creative space
It's always fun and inspiring to get new supplies!
Last weekend I went to the Craft and Quilt Show in Sydney and was thrilled that my favorite Venetian bead supplier was there.
She sells some of my very favorite beads - they are beautiful quality...not cheap. And not cheap imitations either!
I like to just make some simple earrings with them - to let their beauty take centre stage.
I've also been playing with the pendants that I showed you last week that I bought from Beadfreaky on etsy.
I used a design idea by Sarah Kandell-Gritzmaker from Stringing magazine substituting what I had for bits I didn't have.
I used the loop bits from some fob or toggle clasps and took apart a necklace that had a green pendant with malachite beads (unsold, unloved!) for the back of the necklace.
I have many more ideas...but they will have to wait for another time....

Turning necklaces into something else - a bit of remodelling - My Creative Space.
Sometimes things don't find a nice new loving home.
Sad but true : (
I have a few of those things hanging around at the moment.
Luckily most jewellery creations can be remodelled/recycled/refreshed, whatever!
So I got out my box of has-beens and took a fresh look at them.
What could I do?
I really like the ceramic beads in this necklace but they just didn't really work as a plain mid-length necklace.
I recently bought this lovely handmade ceramic pendants from Beadfreaky.
With nothing specific in mind - I just liked them!
But, hey! How would the goddess face go with the ceramic beads from the simple necklace?
Combined with some blue/pink faceted crackle agate beads (very unusual beads) and some black agate for contrast.
Spurred on by this I decided to have a look at some other necklaces that need a bit of remodelling.
This was a longish necklace with a chunky graphic jasper pendant.
Still in the memory wire, bracelet making mode - it became a warm-tone wrap around bracelet.
Lovely colours for autumn or winter.
I didn't take a photo of this before I hacked into it!
It was just a plain, long necklace - pearls, citrine and new jade...very lovey I thought - but it went unloved, unwanted.
Perhaps it makes a prettier wrap bracelet?
This necklace I made when I has a goddess themed market a few years back.
Asymmetric and a bit quirky - I know what you are thinking...it's flippin' ugly!
What was I thinking?!
Now it's a chunky memory wire bracelet - lovely warm autumn colours, perfect to go with winter outfits.
That's about it for this week folks!

Take some memory wire - my creative space
Take some memory wire - you know, that springy stuff like a slinky?
Add some silver tubes...
Or some rubber tubing...
Mix in some random beads...
Or some bright stone beads....
Or some freshwater pearls...
And what have you got?
A wonderful selection of easy-to-put-on bracelets!
What's in your creative space this week?

My creative space - is a mess!
I got out some beads to make some earrings -
but my work desk is a mess!
Never mind - I just made a little space and carried on.
The task of tidying up was too great and I just wanted to make something!
I have also been supplies shopping today - just a few things, some findings, beading wire and chain.
I love new supplies.
I love the different colours of craft wire -
This and these will become earrings -
I'm joining in with My Creative Space on Village Voices over at kidspot.
Pop on over and have a look!

Cooking & something completely different....well a bit different!
My creative space this week includes a bit of cooking -
- and something different.
I mentioned that I'm not going to be making the tshirts for Boos Tees anymore - after I have got rid of the stock that I have at the moment, but I have a considerable amount of fabric.....so this week I took some of these -
and some of these -
- rummaged through some of this -
and made some of these -
Can you guess what they are going to become?
That's right!
Earrings!
I was having so much fun....but then I ran out of stud backs...so I have to go supplies shopping - aw, what a shame!
What's been happening in your space (creative or otherwise) this week?

My creative space - sewing and more sewing
Nothing much to see here folks!
Just sewing and more sewing, trying to finish up with the tshirts over at Boos Tees as I mentioned back in December.
I'll be touting my wares on Sunday at the lovely little Coledale Market just near Wollongong, south of Sydney.
If you are in the area pop in and have a look, there's lots of great handmade stuff and yummy food.

So much to do! My creative space
It's such a busy time of year!
Have I said that before?
It makes me think that there's not so much creative stuff going on - more like production!
Do you feel like that sometimes?
However I did create a new tshirt for my Boos Tees business.
As I'm going to the Love Lawson festival which has a beard and moustache competition, so I designed this specially for the occassion.
I also have to do an alteration on this necklace for a customer, she wants it 7cm longer.
It will be a bit of a design challenge without adding any more of the faceted stones, but I have a little idea.
I also made some of these sweet summer necklaces for the market this weekend - they were very popular last weekend.
So much for my creative space this week!

Lists - do you?
I am a great list maker.
Are you?
I make lists so I don't forget things. My memory isn't what it was.
But also I read once that writing lists is one way of being efficient. That the people who you think remember everything only do so because they have written stuff down.
I write a shopping list (and then usually don't stick to it)
I write a list of my stock in my B & M shop The Nook.
I write a daily to-do list.
And then there are the challenges I'm taking part in - Fat Mum Slim photo a day -
#amonthof #mycreativespace challenge -
We have a camping/bushwalking list of things to take that is kept in the "camping" cupboard.
When I'm at the markets I write a list of things that I've sold.
I have a Christmas card list.
A supplies list -
And so on and so on!
How many lists do you have?
Or do you just have one big list?
Do you write your lists down? Or keep them on your phone or computer?
Do you use a diary or a calendar?
I'd love to hear from you, or pop on over to #amonthof on Facebook and join in.
ps the extremely useful notepads are from forget me not .
