Things I might do with a fat quarter.

I need to destash my fabric stash.....badly.
You see I bought an awful lot of fabrics when I was making tshirts for Boos Tees, and now that is no more I need to re-purpose, recycle or re-locate sundry bits of fabric.

A lot of it is in fat quarters*
A lot of it is stuff I really like.
I would like to use it.....but what? and how?

I already made some bow ties. (You can see them at the bottom of this post.)

So I've done a bit of research and have come up with these other possibilities.

1. Tea cosy.

I actually have a few tea cosies.
But I could make a toaster cover?
Or a food mixer cover?

I wouldn't do such fancy quilting and I probably would leave out the felt flowers.

2. Sweet little boxy pouch.

You can never have too many pouches, right?
This is a different shape from all my other pouches.....so could be useful.

3. Fabric covered bulletin board.

This is pretty cool because it involves no sewing and a lot of glueing!

4. Infinity scarf.

I love infinity scarves.
I'm excited!

5. Tablet or kindle cover.

ipad cover
I just got a Kindle for Christmas so a cover would be good.
I wouldn't put the apple on the front though.
And I'm not mad about the binding....
It has a pocket on the front, not sure what that is for.

6. Drawstring bag.

This could be very useful.

7. Simple tote bag.

Yes, I know, another bag.....
Love this fabric too.

8. Fabric trays.

These could be very useful.
I could put beads in them!

9. Gardeners apron.

Could also be a market apron.
I'm liking that idea.

10. Cloth napkins.

cloth napkins
Actually I call them serviettes.
But whatever, this is the easiest of them all!
and we do use cloth napkins.

This tutorial shows you how to get the corners mitred all neatly.

I could also make cloth handkerchiefs.
Oh, yeah!

* for non-patchworky people, a fat quarter is a quarter of a square meter of fabric cut in a square.

Hi Natalie, how are you?
I love the zipper pouch too, I'd have to go and purchase some zippers though.
